In Alanya, private school prices are shocking: parents are struggling

Following the price increases for nurseries, the rise in private school fees in Alanya is also hitting wallets hard. The figures, putting families in a difficult position, are shocking: prices range from 95,000 to 124,000 liras.

High inflation and the rising cost of living in Alanya have made life challenging for both the unemployed and the working population. So much so that the cost of educating one child has become five times the minimum wage. As tuition fees for private schools for the 2025-2026 season have been finalized, parents are struggling to figure out how to cope with these expenses. Prices exceeding the minimum wage are forcing families to look for alternative solutions.

SCHOOLS ARE EXPENSIVE

After the minimum wage was determined in Alanya, price increases began in all sectors. School fees were no exception. Families who want to send their children to state schools were also shocked by the prices. Tuition fees range between 95,000 and 124,000 liras.

Moreover, these amounts cover only basic care and education costs. In some schools, meal fees are included in the overall cost, while in others, meals require an additional payment. When transportation and additional book fees are added, the total cost reaches an even higher level.
