On November 1st internationally awarded chef, author, and TV presenter Yunus Emre Akkor at the 3rd Alanya Tropical Fruit Festival
Chef Yunus Emre Akkor specialized in Ottoman and Middle Eastern cuisine with twenty years of kitchen experience and culinary research. His interviews, recipes, and research articles have been published in national newspapers and magazines, and he continues his writing activities. He hosted the program "Ottoman Table" during Ramadan on TRT Türk channel, and on Türkmax Gurme channel, he hosted "Tasty Conversations," followed by daily live broadcasts for two seasons.
Akkor also manages the culinary segments of various programs on national television and voluntarily conducts presentations on Ottoman cuisine at universities and vocational schools with gastronomy departments. He currently provides consultancy to restaurants and hotels and has received numerous plaques and certificates from various NGOs for his contributions to promoting our culture and country. He conducts special events and workshops at international fairs organized by the Ministry of Culture.
His book "Ottoman Marine Cuisine" won the "Best Fish and Seafood Book" award at the Gourmand World Cookbook competition, known as the Nobel Prize for cookbooks, in 2012. In July 2014, two new books, "Homemade Ice Cream" and "From Tradition to Universal: Ottoman Cuisine," were published by Alfa Publishing House. He has also aired various cooking programs on the bein gurme channel in Qatar.
Since February 2019, a documentary program he hosts has been broadcast weekly on TRT 2 Culture and Arts channel. He is also a writer for Turkish Airlines' Skylife magazine and serves as a lecturer at universities with gastronomy departments.
In 2020, his book about Kayseri cuisine won the award for the best book at the World Cookbook Awards.
This time, Yunus Emre Akkor will be at the Alanya Municipality Tropical Fruit Festival on November 1st at 5:00 PM for a tasting workshop titled "Culinary Stories of an Empire."
