The "tax evaders" list has been announced: Who's on it... Is there anyone from Alanya among the tax evaders?

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance's Revenue Administration (GİB) has published a list of taxpayers whose tax and penalty debts exceed 5 million TL. Among the names, prominent businessman Cem Uzan, with a debt of 907 million TL, drew significant attention, coming in at 39th place. However, the main question on the Alanya public's mind was, "Is there anyone from Alanya on the tax evaders list?"

In a statement, GİB clarified that, under Article 5 of the Tax Procedure Law No. 213, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance holds the authority to disclose unpaid taxes and penalties that surpass a specified amount. According to this law, debts and penalties for 2024 have been published in accordance with the General Communiqué on Tax Procedure Law No. 564.

What Types of Debts Are Included in the List?

The list is divided as follows: tax and penalties over 5 million TL arising from various types of assessments (Category I-A), and debts due as of December 31, 2023, that remain unpaid and exceed 5 million TL (Category I-B). The list, displayed at tax offices from October 15 to October 31, 2024, will also be available on the GİB website from November 1 to November 15.

Taxpayer Status: 53.1 Billion TL in Confirmed Debt, 914.9 Billion TL in Unpaid Debt According to GİB’s data, Category I-A includes 2,464 taxpayers, 419 of whom are individuals and 2,045 are corporations. Active taxpayers have a total debt of 6.3 billion TL, while inactive taxpayers’ debts amount to 46.7 billion TL. In Category I-B, there are a total of 36,906 taxpayers, with unpaid debts totaling 914.9 billion TL, of which 801.1 billion TL is owed by inactive taxpayers.

A review of the list revealed that there are no tax evaders from Alanya.
