Frightening data from meteorology: Alanya will freeze

The cold wave expected to affect Turkey will also make itself felt in Alanya. Meteorologists report that the "Erbain" period, when winter shows its harsh face, has begun.
This period, known as "Erbain cold" among the public, begins on December 21 and is considered the coldest time of the year. Erbain will bring freezing temperatures, strong winds, and heavy snowfall. Particularly in Central and Eastern Anatolia, there is a risk of icing, frost, and avalanches.

Meteorologists predict that this winter will be harsher compared to previous years. Dr. Güven Özdemir from Istanbul Aydın University stated that the probability of a cold and rainy winter is 70%.
WHAT IS ERBAIN?
Erbain, an Arabic-origin word meaning "forty," represents the coldest 40 days of winter and is also known as "zemheri" in Turkish. It typically begins on December 21 and lasts until January 31.
