Boat fire in Alanya: Fishermen's harbor engulfed in flames

In Alanya, during midnight, a fire broke out on a luxury yacht named “Shahmeran,” docked in the fishermen’s harbor. The cause of the fire remains unknown. The fire quickly engulfed the entire yacht, causing panic in the vicinity. Three teams from Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and Alanya Fire Department, along with three ships from the Alanya Coast Guard Command, were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters and coast guard forces made significant efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby vessels. During the blaze, the yacht’s anchor detached, and it began drifting away from the harbor. Meanwhile, police and guards struggled to control the yacht using ropes. After approximately an hour of operations, the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.

Investigation Launched

Extensive security measures were taken to prevent damage to other boats in the area. Law enforcement authorities launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Security cameras at the scene were reviewed, with initial findings indicating that the yacht had previously experienced a similar fire.
