Divorce rates in Alanya have reached alarming levels

Population movements in Alanya for the years 2023 and 2024 shed light on the social and demographic changes in the city. According to the data, birth rates are decreasing, while there has been a significant increase in mortality and divorce rates. At the same time, there has been a noticeable decline in the number of marriages.

BIRTH RATE IS DECREASING, MORTALITY AND DIVORCE RATES ARE INCREASING According to the data released by the Alanya Population Directorate, there were 3,593 births in the city in 2023. However, this number decreased by 8.9% to 3,273 in 2024. On the other hand, mortality rates increased by 9.5% in 2024, reaching 1,820.

SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN THE NUMBER OF MARRIAGES The marriage rate in Alanya also showed a decline. In 2023, 2,708 couples got married, but this number dropped by 11.5% to 2,395 in 2024.

SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN DIVORCE RATE The divorce rate showed a notable increase. In 2023, 943 couples divorced, and in 2024, this number rose by 19.3% to 1,125.
