Tour boats in Alanya had a bad start to the tourism season.

Thousands of local and foreign tourists visiting Alanya prefer boat tours during the summer, but the 2025 tourism season has not started as expected. Although the boats are going on tours, they are operating at only about 25% capacity.
Speaking to Yeni Alanya, Alanya Yacht Owners Cooperative President Süleyman Yücesan said:
“We can’t say the season started well for us. We hope that business will pick up once the weather gets warmer and schools are out. Currently, the boats going on tours are operating at half capacity.”
“Number of Passengers Is Not Enough”
Boat owner Uğur Arslan stated:
“The season is not going as we had hoped so far. Shopkeepers had high expectations, but the number of incoming customers is not sufficient. We hope for a better season starting in June when schools close. The number of passengers on boats at the harbor is not enough. The boats go on tours, but profits are low. Many are operating at a loss. Currently, boats are running at only 25% of their capacity.”
“Tours Are Running at 25% Capacity”
Boat owner Ahmet Vural said:
“We wish everyone a successful 2025 tourism season. Looking at the current trend, we’re not seeing significant returns. We hope tourism will gain momentum in the coming days. We have about 20 large tour boats, but only 4-5 of them are operating. The rest are docked. It’s not even half; boats are going out with just 25% of their possible passengers. This creates financial difficulties for our tradespeople. Our tour prices start from approximately 20 Euros. This includes 3 types of meals, drinks, and transfer services.”
“More Europeans Seen”
Hasan Benek, evaluating the season for tour boats, added:
“This year we’re seeing more Europeans. We’ve just started, and hopefully, the season will get better as it progresses.”
