The Turkish Grand National Assembly has passed a new law introducing significant reforms affecting public institutions. A 35-year age limit will now be required for entry into civil service positions. TRT has been granted special authority to establish companies and manage procurement processes. Tax inspectors will be prohibited from working in institutions they audited for three years after leaving public office. Members of regulatory bodies such as the Information and Communication Technologies Authority and the Public Procurement Board must not have any political party affiliations. Recruitment of experts and assistant experts will follow civil servant requirements, and those who fail to meet thesis or language criteria will be reassigned.
