Ministry Exposes Companies! Here Are the 2 Provinces Where Citizens Were Fed Horse and Donkey Meat

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has exposed companies involved in food fraud.

According to the published list, some businesses in the provinces of Adana and Sakarya were found to be using horse and donkey meat in red meat products. In Adana, 15 businesses; in Sakarya, 7 businesses were identified as putting public health at risk.

Recent inspections revealed that certain companies in Adana and Gaziantep sold horse and donkey meat to consumers, falsely labeling it as beef.

On May 23, the ministry published an updated list of products and companies that pose a threat to public health. The results of the inspections were categorized under two headings: "Foods Endangering Health" and "Adulterated and Counterfeit Foods."

HORSE AND DONKEY MEAT FED TO CITIZENS IN 2 PROVINCES

One of the most striking violations was detected at a company named “Can Et” in the Seyhan district of Adana, where horse and donkey meat was found in products labeled as beef. Similarly, in the Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep, an analysis of ground meat at the “Aydın Catering” food company revealed the presence of horse, donkey, and poultry meat.
