The merchants did not open their shops in accordance with a one-day shutter closure decision taken to draw attention to the increasing brand inspections and injustices they face. The protest, previously announced by the Alanya Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen with the slogan "This is not a boycott, it is a cry!", left the market deserted.

In a recent press statement, it was stated that the increasing brand inspections targeting small businesses have turned into a tool of pressure and punishment. Merchants whose shops have been raided and whose goods have been confiscated due to items like t-shirts or bags are said to no longer have the strength to endure.
