Professor Naci Görür issued a worrying statement: a warning of a magnitude 7 or higher earthquake in Antalya

Renowned geologist Professor Naci Görür made significant statements about the seismic activity in Antalya. He pointed out that the city is located on active fault lines capable of producing major earthquakes.
At an award ceremony where he received the "Chief Teacher Award" from the Eğitim-İş Antalya Branch, Professor Görür emphasized that Antalya must be made safer against earthquakes. The scientist stated that the city sits on four major fault lines with the potential to generate earthquakes of magnitude 7 or higher.
"ANTALYA MUST BE EARTHQUAKE-RESILIENT"
Görür said: "It is crucial for a beautiful city like Antalya to be prepared for earthquakes. Our buildings must be constructed in accordance with earthquake resistance regulations, and risky structures must be reinforced."
"WE WILL NOT DEVIATE FROM THE PATH SET BY ATATÜRK"
At the award ceremony, Professor Görür also expressed his devotion to Atatürk’s ideals, saying: "We will do everything necessary to achieve our goals without deviating from the path set by Chief Teacher Atatürk."
THE MORE WARNINGS, THE MORE MEASURES NEEDED
Experts stress the importance of being more aware of earthquake risks in Antalya and taking the necessary precautions. Urban planners, civil engineers, and local governments must collaborate to create an earthquake-resilient city.
