A 'Master' Plan for Tourism in Alanya

Led by the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), a scientific, participatory, and long-term roadmap is being developed for Alanya's tourism future. The Tourism Master Plan will be shaped with academic support and contributions from local residents, business owners, and all stakeholders.

Alanya's tourism vision is being shaped through collective wisdom. The “Alanya Tourism Master Plan,” initiated by ALTAV, aims to determine the city’s tourism strategy for the next 5 to 10 years. The plan will be developed through field research, surveys, and inclusive workshops, aiming not only to improve tourism but also the overall quality of life in the region.

The first meeting was held last week at ALTSO with the participation of Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, ALTID President Burhan Sili, and other stakeholders. The process will be academically guided by Prof. Dr. Muharrem Tuna, President of the Association of Tourism Academics.

In the coming stages, a broad participation will be ensured—from political party representatives to NGOs, professional chambers, and local foreign residents. This strategic plan that will shape Alanya’s tourism future is also expected to play a key role in the region’s development. Opinions will be gathered from all segments, including the public, tourism professionals, and local businesses.
