Cadaver Donated to ALKU Faculty of Medicine

72-Year-Old Niyazi Madendere Donates His Body as a Cadaver to ALKU Faculty of Medicine

In recent years, cadaver donations to Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) have been on the rise. The Faculty of Medicine, which had previously received donations from five individuals, has now welcomed the donation of 72-year-old Niyazi Madendere from Eyüpsultan, Istanbul. Following the preparation of the legal documents required to fulfill his will, the donation process was completed with mutual signatures in the presence of the Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Erenler. Dean Erenler thanked Madendere for his meaningful contribution and emphasized the growing importance of cadaver donations.

DONOR MADENDERE: “THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE”

Donor Niyazi Madendere stated, “I made this decision over 50 years ago. I believe our society is not sensitive enough when it comes to cadaver donations. I don’t want students to graduate without ever seeing or working with a cadaver. I decided my body would be more useful serving science and humanity. Today is the happiest day of my life. I truly believe this donation will help raise successful doctors for our country. I thank ALKU Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan, our Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Erenler, and the entire ALKU family.”
