Hot Asphalt Works Begin in Kargıcak Neighborhood – Mayor Özçelik: “We Are Paving an Area Equivalent to 12 Football Fields”

To improve transportation comfort throughout the city, Alanya Municipality has launched a hot asphalt project covering several streets in Kargıcak Neighborhood, totaling 7 kilometers. Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, who inspected the works on-site, stated: "We are paving an area the size of 12 football fields in our neighborhood."

Alanya Municipality continues to enhance transportation comfort in the city center, neighborhoods, and highlands. While surface asphalt works are carried out in areas with incomplete infrastructure or unstable ground, hot asphalt is applied on fully completed roads as part of a long-term plan.

7 Kilometers of Asphalt in 1.5 Months

In this context, the Directorate of Public Works began hot asphalt paving in Kargıcak Neighborhood. Work started on Atatürk Street, which connects Mahmutlar and Kargıcak. Afterward, works will continue on Dalkılıç and Mehmet Akif Ersoy streets and various connecting roads. A total of 7 kilometers of hot asphalt will be laid in Kargıcak, to be used by local residents. Completion is expected within one and a half months.

Mayor Özçelik: Best Wishes to All

Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik visited the site to inspect the works and wished the teams good luck. He was accompanied by CHP District Chair Bülent Kandemir, Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak, Advisors Sadık Dizdaroğlu and Faruk Konukçu, City Council Members Asrın Ateşoğlu, Ahmet Top, Ufuk Aras Solmaz, Kargıcak Headman Muammer Asiltürk, and Public Works Director Atahan Uyar. Mayor Özçelik stated that over 64,000 m² and more than 16,000 tons of asphalt would be laid. “In line with our consultations with local headmen and our planning, we continue our asphalt works. We visited our teams working in hot weather to improve residents’ comfort. We are laying asphalt over an area the size of 12 football fields. While completing all the roads we can this year, we are also planning the 2026 paving schedule. I thank everyone involved. May it be beneficial,” he said. Headman Asiltürk and local residents also expressed their thanks to Mayor Özçelik and his team.
