$4.1 Billion Investment for Antalya–Alanya Highway

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced during the financial closing ceremony of the Çeşmeli-Kızkalesi Highway in Ankara that Turkey has initiated investments worth approximately $4.1 billion with the Antalya-Alanya and Çeşmeli-Kızkalesi highways. He emphasized that these projects are carried out through the public-private partnership (PPP) model and international tenders, bringing foreign capital into the country and enabling faster completion without using public funds.

The Çeşmeli-Kızkalesi Highway spans 52 kilometers in total, including a 41-km 6-lane main section and an 11-km 4-lane connection road. The project includes 7 tunnels, 5 viaducts, 33 bridges and overpasses, 34 underpasses, 2 service areas, and a tunnel operations center. Upon completion, it will integrate Mersin’s tourist zones into the highway network, reduce travel time from 2.5 hours to 18 minutes, save 2.2 billion lira annually, and reduce carbon emissions by 17,000 tons.

The investment is financed 30% by equity and 70% through loans provided by eight financial institutions based in the UK and Germany.
