Turkey Opens Doors to Turkic Peoples: Erdoğan Signs New Decree

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decree simplifying employment procedures for citizens of Turkic states in Turkey. The decree was published on October 10 in the official gazette, Resmî Gazete.
Under the new regulation, citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will be able to work without complex permit processes.
They will have the opportunity to engage in professional and entrepreneurial activities in both public and private institutions, except for security services and military roles.
Requirements include holding residence permits, posing no threat to national security, recognition of foreign professional credentials, and proof of affiliation to a Turkic community.
Also, citizens of Turkic-speaking countries will need to register with professional organizations on par with Turkish citizens.
However, the decree does not grant rights to vote or run for office.
