The e-government era is beginning in the sale of used cars! Here’s the new regulation

An important regulation concerning the sale of used cars is on the way. Soon, those wishing to sell their vehicles will be required to report the sale through e-Devlet. Starting from 2025, no vehicle advertisements will be accepted without authorization, and this regulation will directly impact 80,000 used car sellers.

The new regulation, announced last week by Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, which covers real estate and automotive advertisements, is highly relevant to the used car market. This new practice, which will come into effect in October, includes significant changes, especially for those looking to sell their vehicles through consignment.

From 2025, Only Verified Advertisements Will Be Published

Under the new regulation, individuals who wish to sell a used vehicle through a gallery or authorized dealer will be required to complete these transactions via e-Devlet. Vehicle owners will select the vehicle they wish to sell from the "My Vehicles" section on e-Devlet and complete the authorization process by entering the code used by the seller on advertisement sites.

According to information from A-Haber, authorized sellers will upload details such as the vehicle's price, mileage, and damage status to the advertisement sites. Initially, both verified and regular advertisements will be available on online platforms. However, starting in January 2025, only verified advertisements will be visible on these platforms.

This new regulation aims to increase transparency in the used car market and ensure that consumers can make purchases more safely. The change will bring significant innovations for individuals and businesses involved in car sales and contribute to making the market more reliable.
