Today's temperature went through the roof: Antalya has never experienced this!

Antalya is experiencing one of the hottest days of August so far. The air temperature in the city reached 44 degrees, while car thermometers showed 47 degrees. Overwhelmed by the heat, residents headed to shaded areas and the beach.

According to the latest weather forecast, temperatures across the country will continue to rise from today. In Antalya, the air temperature was measured at 38 degrees, with humidity around 45%. Due to the high humidity, the perceived temperature reached 44 degrees. On Antalya's world-famous Konyaaltı Beach, the sea temperature was recorded at 30 degrees. Foreign tourists and locals, exhausted by the heat, either sought shade under trees or took a dip in the sea.

Beach overcrowded

Ahmet Gökgöz, who came to Antalya for a vacation from Istanbul, said, "I came to Antalya for a holiday. The perceived temperature in Antalya might be around 45-50 degrees, but the weather is still very nice. My holiday is going great. The sea is beautiful; I can say that the sea water at Konyaaltı Beach is unmatched." Despite it being a weekday, Dilek Üstündağ mentioned that there is a crowd at Konyaaltı Beach: "The weather is wonderful today, and we came to the beach with friends. The current temperature is around 40 degrees. There is a crowd here today, just like on weekends. I come to swim twice a week; I love the sea."

"Can't get used to the scorching heat"

Barış Sarı, who said that the temperature is higher than previous days and that even as a local, he finds it hard to get used to the heat, stated, "Antalya is a bit warmer than previous days, so we went to the beach. I feel that the temperature is not below 40 degrees right now. We try to visit Konyaaltı Beach regularly; we are very affected by the heat and always find ourselves in the sea. I cool off from the heat with the sea. We have been here for years, we were born and raised here, but we still haven't gotten used to this heat. July and August are especially scorching, so we try to come to the beach as much as we can."
