All of Turkey is anxiously waiting for the discovery of 8-year-old Narin, who has been missing. Narin's mother, Yüksel Güran, had said that she would perform a traditional dance in front of Turkey when she is reunited with her daughter. However, despite a week of search efforts, no results have been found yet. Up to now, 130 people have been questioned, and arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.
On August 21, around 3:00 PM, Narin went missing after leaving her home to attend a Quran course in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır. Search operations were launched based on the family's report, with teams from 112 Emergency Health Services, the Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK), AFAD, and the Dicle University Search and Rescue (DÜAK) participating.
While divers from AFAD conducted searches in the irrigation canal, gendarmerie and other rescue teams meticulously searched the surrounding area including rocks, streams, reed beds, fields, abandoned sites, empty houses, barns, and gardens. Additionally, the gendarmerie checked vehicles entering and exiting the neighborhood, and areas around wells were marked with spray paint after searches. So far, an area of 16 kilometers has been covered.
Search Efforts Intensified in Eğertutmaz Stream Following a tip-off, teams began search operations in Eğertutmaz Stream, located 2 kilometers from Tavşantepe neighborhood. Heavy machinery was used to remove debris from the streambed, and the water flow was accelerated. Gendarmerie and AFAD teams conducted a detailed search along the stream.
130 People Questioned, Arrests Made To locate Narin, 130 people have been questioned. Diyarbakır Bar Association President Nahit Eren stated in an interview with Cumhuriyet newspaper that they are closely following the investigation. Eren mentioned that those who provided statements were questioned as "informants," but some individuals were detained as "suspects."
Imam's Home Also Searched Nahit Eren also noted that the Quran course imam was questioned, and a search was conducted at the imam's home as part of the investigation. Detailed searches were also carried out in many other homes.
