Following the Bolu fire, the operation of 10 hotels in Alanya has been suspended

Speeding up the fight against unlicensed operations, Alanya Mayor Özçelik has suspended the activities of 10 hotels that failed to obtain operating permits despite warnings.
After taking office, Mayor Özçelik directed municipal inspectors to focus on license checks and announced that four comprehensive inspections had been conducted throughout Alanya. He stated that businesses were only given warnings during this process and that the number of licenses issued in 2024 alone nearly matched the total of the previous three years.
Speaking at the latest Alanya Municipal Council meeting, Mayor Özçelik made the following statement:
“We have continuously highlighted the issue of unlicensed businesses in Alanya and strongly urged our tradespeople to obtain their licenses. During the first four inspections, we refrained from imposing penalties and allowed time for compliance. Over the past three years, we issued a total of 2,652 licenses. In 2024 alone, this number reached 2,421, nearly equaling the total for the previous three years. We still have 700 tradespeople awaiting fire safety reports and completing their documentation. Once they finish the process, we will have licensed over 3,000 businesses in total.”
However, Özçelik took action against businesses that failed to obtain licenses despite repeated warnings, sealing 10 tourism facilities as part of this effort. The sealed facilities include: Eva Beach Hotel, Clover Magic Garden Beach, Club Wasa Holiday Village, Grand Bahama Beach Alanya, Hare Hotel, Moonlight Hotel, Best House Apart-2, Almera Park Apart Hotel, Lila Garden Apart Otel, and Kleopatra Smile Hotel.
