Terrible fire in Manavgat: Many businesses burned

The fire that started late at night in Manavgat caused significant damage to the industrial site. The flames, spreading rapidly due to the wind, reached nearby businesses, resulting in millions of liras in damage. With the intense intervention of the fire brigade, the fire was brought under control in about three hours, and the scale of the disaster was revealed during the morning inspections.

FLAMES ENGULF THE INDUSTRIAL SITE, DAMAGING MANY BUSINESSES

The fire began at a business engaged in car electrical services at the Manavgat Industrial Site around 00:45 AM. The fire quickly spread to the nearby tire shop. As the tires caught fire, thick smoke rose into the sky, and the flames spread rapidly. In addition to the fire brigade, water tankers and machinery from the Manavgat Municipality also intervened. The fire was eventually controlled after intense efforts, but some of the roofs of businesses collapsed.

MOTHER DOG AND PUPPIES RESCUED

During the fire, a mother dog and her five puppies, trapped in the tire shop, were rescued by local citizens and officials and safely moved to a secure area. Materials were evacuated from the shops using construction machinery to open the shutters.

MILLIONS OF LIRAS IN DAMAGE

The tire shop, car electrical shop, and coil workshop were completely destroyed and rendered unusable. Many surrounding businesses were also affected by the intense smoke and heat. Five to six cars left for repair and four to five motorcycles were completely burned. Due to power cuts, some shops couldn't open their shutters, and damage assessments in the morning revealed millions of liras in losses.
