Sunbed Beating of Tourist in Alanya! The Business Has Been Sealed

In the Alanya district of Antalya, a dispute over sunbed rentals led to a beach resort employee assaulting a tourist. District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer announced that the business in question has been sealed. The business owner claimed that the tourist, who was under the influence of alcohol, threw a sunbed at a Turkish customer in a private cabin, and when he intervened, he was assaulted. On May 16th, a disagreement broke out between a resort employee and a foreign tourist at Damlataş Beach. According to witnesses, the tourist, who initially wanted to rent a sunbed but found the price too high, decided to leave his belongings on the sand and swim in the sea. The conflict escalated when the employee asked the tourist to leave. The employee then assaulted the tourist in front of other holidaymakers. The situation was calmed by interveners, and the tourist left the beach. Footage of the incident spread rapidly on social media, showing the tourist being assaulted. "THE BUSINESS WAS SEALED ON THE SAME DAY" District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer confirmed that the business was sealed and stated, "Legal and administrative actions have been immediately initiated regarding the assault incident that occurred at a beach resort in Alanya, which does not reflect our city's and tourism understanding. The business in question was sealed by the municipal police on the same day of the incident and remains sealed. In Alanya, one of the first cities in Turkey to develop tourism, no tolerance will be shown towards approaches that contradict our city's and country's hospitality understanding." "I HAVE A REPORT, BUT THE TOURIST DOES NOT" Following the incident, business owner Serhan Koçaroğlu sent a written statement to the media. He claimed that the incident took place outside his business's beach boundaries and said, "An alcohol-affected Russian tourist threw a sunbed at a Turkish customer sitting in the cabin of our beach. When I went to intervene, I was physically assaulted by the tourist." Koçaroğlu stated that he called the police after the attack and went to the hospital, where he received an assault report and a report was filed. He emphasized that the tourist did not have any physical injuries and did not obtain an assault report.
