India, which is boycotting Turkey, will end up suffering significant losses.

Turkey's support for Pakistan due to the Kashmir issue has been met with political and social backlash in New Delhi. Cancellations in tourism began, Çelebi, which runs all operations at Mumbai Airport, was banned, and academic collaborations were also frozen. Unable to stop, India has recently targeted Turkish export products. However, India is not a major partner of Turkey in either trade or tourism.
ONLY 0.5% OF TOTAL EXPORTS
In 2024, Turkey exported $1.3 billion worth of goods and services to India, while importing $6.4 billion from India. Only 0.5% of Turkey's total exports of $261.9 billion last year went to India. India also accounted for just 2% of Turkey's imports.
"INDIA WILL SUFFER FROM THE BOYCOTT CAMPAIGN"
According to Yeni Şafak, export unions emphasize that they are capable of immediately compensating for any potential losses from alternative markets, stating that India will be negatively affected by the boycott campaign. Export circles say, "Although the numbers aren't very large, we already buy six times more from India for every one product we sell. If Turkey responds to India based on reciprocity, things will turn around. The $5 billion foreign trade deficit we have with India will improve. Because Turkey can replace many of the products it imports from India with domestic production or find alternatives from other markets."
