Following the announcement of the official Revaluation Rate (YDO) at 25.49% for 2026, fees for many state services in Turkey have been adjusted — including driver’s licence issuance fees, effective from 1 January 2026.
As a result:
The fee for a Class B licence has risen from 5,678 TL to 7,122 TL.
For Class A (motorcycle licences A, A1, A2), the fee increased from 1,883 TL to 2,360 TL.
This increase means that the total cost of obtaining a driving licence — including fees, paperwork, courses and exams — is expected to grow significantly; some estimates suggest total expenses could approach 10,000 TL.
Economists warn that such hikes may become regular given high inflation, urging prospective drivers to budget accordingly.
