A lightning bolt struck a woman’s phone while she was filming during a storm.

A woman was struck by lightning while trying to record a video from her window on a stormy day. The bright flash and loud explosion caused by the lightning hitting her phone were captured in a video shared on social media. Meteorology experts warn that lightning can be attracted to metal objects and electronic devices. Therefore, being in open areas, standing in high places, or holding metal objects during storms is extremely dangerous.
A recently shared video on social media reveals the terrifying moments experienced by a woman trying to film a storm from her window. The video clearly shows the exact moment lightning strikes the phone in her hand. In the footage, the woman can be seen extending her hand out of the window during heavy rain to capture the storm. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes her phone directly. A bright flash and a loud explosion are heard at the moment of impact.
Experts frequently warn that metal objects and electronic devices can attract lightning. Meteorologist Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yılmaz stated: “Being in open areas, standing on elevated ground, and holding metal objects during a thunderstorm is extremely dangerous. Cell phones, especially when used near open areas such as windows, can pose a significant risk.”
