22 May /

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced during a rally in Pendik that preparations have begun to increase the minimum wage in July. “We will secure a real raise in the minimum wage this July,” he said. Özel emphasized that meetings will be held with labor unions, employers, and small businesses to ensure the burden of the raise doesn’t fall on SMEs. According to TÜİK, inflation over the past four months is 13%, while ENAG reports a 4,400 TL loss in purchasing power. Özel added, “The minimum wage has lost value due to inflation since the beginning of the year. We are taking steps to recover this loss.”
