A Gathering of Culture, Art and History at the Alanya City Council

The Culture-Art and History Working Groups, operating under the Alanya City Council, came together in a joint meeting to discuss key issues regarding the city’s cultural and historical heritage.

The meeting was chaired by Faruk Nafiz Koçak, General Coordinator of the Alanya City Council and Head of the Culture-Art Working Group, and Raşit Fehmi Raşitoğlu, Head of the History Working Group. The meeting, also attended by Kazım Arı, President of the Alanya City Council Youth Assembly, saw broad participation from experts across various professional disciplines including archaeologists, architects, urban planners, anthropologists, and engineers.

With active participation from young people, the meeting emphasized the importance of remembering Alanya’s deep-rooted history and preserving and sustaining its cultural identity. It was underlined that protecting the city’s historical and cultural assets is vital, and that passing this heritage to future generations is a societal responsibility.

Participants highlighted the importance of holding similar meetings on a regular basis and noted that such gatherings play a significant role in fostering cultural awareness and strengthening the collective memory of the city.
