ALTID President Burhan Sili warned citizens about holiday scams and emphasized the importance of confirming reservations. With the busy summer season in Alanya, fake booking websites and social media scams have increased. Sili stressed the need for caution when making holiday reservations online. He urged people to book through reliable sources so that their holiday enjoyment is not overshadowed by fraud.

Sili advised using trusted websites, checking if the booking site is approved by TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies), and booking through the hotel's official website or well-known reliable platforms. He recommended confirming the reservation directly with the hotel after booking to prevent fake transactions. He warned that prices significantly below market value are often a sign of fraud and advised against clicking unknown links.

Sili also emphasized being careful with payment methods, suggesting to prefer platforms offering secure payment systems rather than those demanding only bank transfers or EFT. He cautioned against making payments or clicking on links from fake campaigns or promotions on social media without verification. He said they will continue to work to ensure both local and foreign guests have safe holidays in Alanya and invited everyone to be cautious and well-informed.
