Water Crisis Hits Farmers in Alanya: Transporting Water by Tankers

Water shortages are increasingly affecting farmers in Alanya. Due to the water problem, producers are forced to transport water by tankers to irrigate their fields. In Aliefendi Neighborhood, farmers reported that they cannot even use well water because of power outages.

Residents pointed out that they have been waiting for irrigation water from the Dim River for years, but farmers in Alanya have been neglected. “Our President says invest in agriculture, but local authorities are not addressing our problems,” they said.

According to Alkın Biricik, instead of explaining how many people benefit from Dim River water, producers in Aliefendi Neighborhood are forced to transport water by tankers in this modern age.
