Get Your Wallets Ready: Record Fees and Fines Coming from January 1

Starting in 2026, Turkey will once again increase taxes, fees, fines, and state charges — from passport renewals to mobile phone registration.

Following the approval of the YDO (Revaluation Rate for 2025), the expected increase will be around 22–24%.

Here’s what the new prices may look like:

📱 IMEI registration — from 45,614 TL to 56,000 TL

🛂 10-year passport — from 11,274 TL to 13,867 TL

✈️ Exit fee for traveling abroad — from 1,000 TL to 1,230 TL

🚗 Category B driver’s license — from 5,678 TL to 6,984 TL

🍽 Meal card exemption — from 240 TL + VAT to 295 TL + VAT

Experts warn that the increase will affect not only official fees but also social payments, meals, and employee transportation costs.
