President Erdoğan announced the discovery of a 694 million–ton rare earth element deposit in the Beylikova district of Eskişehir. This resource holds strategic potential to propel Türkiye in technology, defense, and energy sectors.
Erdoğan noted that teams conducted 125,000 meters of drilling, and a pilot plant has already been established for processing. Similar reserves have reportedly been found in Isparta, Konya, Malatya, Manisa, and Burdur provinces.
Analysts believe this discovery could reduce Türkiye’s external dependency, boost production of high-value goods, and strengthen export capacity. Türkiye might soon rank among world leaders in rare earth reserves.
