Zero tolerance begins in Alanya: crackdown on licence-plate violations
12 November / Alanya Postası

In the city of Alanya, a new zero-tolerance policy targeting number-plate tampering has come into force. Under the new rules:
Any alteration, concealment or obstruction of a licence plate — via stickers, dirt, painting or device — is now treated as a major offence.
Offenders face an administrative fine of 140,000 TL, and their vehicle may be banned from traffic for 30 days.
Enforcement is being stepped up at major entry/exit points, on the D-400 highway and via automated plate-recognition systems.
Drivers are urged to ensure their plates are clean, legible and properly lit — failure to comply may lead to immediate removal from traffic. The aim is to enhance road safety and reduce evasion of liability.
