Fuel prices continue to climb; citizens have become afraid to use it.

Fuel prices have reached record levels due to consecutive increases. With the prices rising so sharply, citizens have started to fear using fuel.

The upward trend in Brent crude oil prices continues. According to the latest data, Brent crude oil has dropped to around $78. However, fuel prices continue to rise. Recently, there were consecutive increases in the prices of diesel and gasoline. With the inclusion of the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) hike, fuel prices have soared during the summer. The price of a liter of gasoline increased by 2.21 Turkish lira, and the price of a liter of diesel increased by 2.07 Turkish lira.

CITIZENS ANXIOUS

Most recently, on Thursday, August 15, the price of a liter of gasoline was increased by 89 kuruş and the price of a liter of diesel by 10 kuruş. Prices continue to reach record levels. After these consecutive price hikes, citizens have become afraid to use their vehicles. Vehicle owners are now having to pay much more for fuel for the same distances they traveled before. There is ongoing anxiety about whether the price increases will continue.
