The 2025 budget of Alanya Municipality exceeded 6 billion

At the October City Council Meeting of Alanya Municipality, the 2025 budget was approved, increased by 31.61% compared to the previous year, totaling 6 billion 735 million Turkish liras. Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik wished for the budget to be beneficial for Alanya.

The Ordinary October Council Meeting of Alanya Municipality was held under the leadership of Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik. In his opening speech, Mayor Özçelik mentioned that the 19th Alanya International Jazz Festival, held last week, was successfully completed. He said, "Thanks to the successful organization and efforts of our team, we concluded the Jazz Festival smoothly. When we reviewed the feedback, we noticed differences compared to previous years. We spread the event over a week. For the first three days, our artists performed at venues in Alanya. We completed the concerts, attended by an average of 1,200 to 1,400 people, between Thursday and Sunday. On the final day, we broadcast the concerts live. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."

"WE DID OUR DUTY IN SCHOOLS"

Speaking about the work carried out in schools before the new academic year, Mayor Özçelik said, “The 2024-2025 academic year has started in our schools. As Alanya Municipality, we painted, repaired, worked on ceramics, and repaired collapsed walls in nearly 40 schools. Based on the protocols made between Alanya Municipality, the National Education Directorate, and the Governor’s Office, we carried out the tasks related to environmental arrangements, paving stones, and asphalt work in schools”.

"IT WILL BE GREAT FOR ALANYA AND TOURISM"

Speaking about the visits to sister cities, Mayor Özçelik said, "The purpose of visiting sister cities is important. In the early days, we met with senior executives from companies like TUI, Coral, Corendon, and Summer. We asked about their expectations from Alanya and Alanya Municipality for 2025. In turn, we shared our plans for 2025 and beyond with them. The senior executives of these companies are contacting us via email with requests, and we are similarly communicating our requests to them. We are continuing these relations through the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV). Maybe, as a result of these meetings, wonderful things will happen for Alanya and its tourism. I truly believe this. We will see the positive outcome of these visits”.

MAYOR ÖZÇELİK TO ATTEND A FAIR IN ENGLAND

It was unanimously approved in the Council that Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, Mayor’s Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın, and Özge Kıldırgıcı, an employee of the Municipality’s External Relations and Tourism Department, will attend the World Travel Market London Fair, one of the world’s most important fairs, which will be held in London. The fair will take place from November 4 to 8, and important meetings related to regional tourism will be held. Mayor Özçelik stated, "During our visit to England, just like our other overseas visits, we are finalizing appointments with 4-5 major tourism companies, including Jet 2 Holidays. We will continue similar activities there."

THANKS TO THE ALANYA CITY COUNCIL

Recommendations accepted at the Ordinary Elective General Assembly of the Alanya City Council and submitted to the Alanya Municipality were discussed in the Council and forwarded to the Mayor’s office. Mayor Özçelik expressed his gratitude to Nurhan and her team for their work: “The Alanya City Council prepared recommendations for our municipality. I would like to thank Nurhan and her management team for the work they have done.” Among these recommendations are the creation of a Sign Management Plan and redesign in terms of urban aesthetics, the establishment of camping and caravan parks, the creation of exhibition areas, the construction of a Youth House in Alanya, the preparation of a Tourism Master Plan for Alanya, the creation of a Digital Democracy Platform, the preparation and implementation of a Local Equality Action Plan, the development, connection, and mapping of bicycle paths, the planting of local plants in public spaces and medians, and the formation of an Alanya Municipal Band and Orchestra.

INVITATION TO THE BOOK FAIR

Mayor Özçelik invited all residents to the 6th Book Fair, which will be held from October 18 to 22: “Our fair was previously held on the ground floor of the Cultural Center. If the weather permits, we will hold it in the parking area at Damlataş, as we have a larger number of participants. If there is a weather problem, we will hold it in the foyer of the Cultural Center. Writers such as Ataol Behramoğlu, Serkan Karaismailoğlu, Ahmet Ümit, Orhan Toker, Coşkun Aral, Yusuf Asal, and Müfit Can Saçıntı will actively participate in this event.” Mayor Özçelik also made an appeal to Council members, saying, "Council members who find it appropriate can support students who cannot afford to buy books. We can allocate funds through official channels and the governor’s budget to help more students buy more books." At the end of the session, Council members were informed about visits to sister cities. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
