Tensions Rise Between the Presidents
ALLEGATIONS BECOMING MORE SERIOUS
The argument between Paşa Özkan, President of the Alanya Minibus, Bus, and Service Vehicles Chamber, and Ali Akkaya, President of the Drivers’ Chamber, continues to escalate with harsh statements shared on social media. The tension spilled into the public eye after mutual accusations.
HEAVY ACCUSATION FROM AKKAYA
Responding to Paşa Özkan’s earlier comment, “Stop showing off and do your job,” Ali Akkaya said:
“Through the ALMOS Tourism Company, which he owns, he has rented out D2 certificates to dozens of vehicles, including Vito and Caravella minibuses, charging 30–40 thousand lira per vehicle annually. In a way, we have disrupted this chain of profit.”
RESPONSE FROM PAŞA ÖZKAN: “I RECOMMEND YOU JOIN A TALK SHOW”
Paşa Özkan denied the allegations, responding to Akkaya with the following statement:
“I absolutely reject the false and disgraceful accusations made by Mr. Akkaya that I created a ‘pyramid scheme’ through D2 certificates. These claims are nothing more than an attempt to discredit a system built with the hard work of tradespeople.”
Özkan emphasized that ALMOS Inc. is not his personal company, but was founded by members of the Alanya Minibus and Bus Drivers' Chamber and operates for the public good. He also stated that no certificates were rented out, and that members’ vehicles were put to work to generate income.
“I WILL CONTINUE TO PROTECT MY TRADESPEOPLE’S RIGHTS”
Paşa Özkan concluded:
“I will never allow you to gain political advantage by using my tradespeople. Chambers are not places for shows; they are for service. My advice to you is to focus your energy on solving your own members’ problems. If you insist on performing, I suggest you join a talk show.”
