At ALKU saplings were planted

At Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), olive trees were planted in empty spaces on November 11, National Afforestation Day, to breathe life into nature and bring hope for the future.
While Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) continues to produce nature and environment-friendly projects, it also strives to protect and expand green spaces. Last year, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, ALKÜ contributed to the "Republic Forests" under the slogan "A Breath for the Republic." This year, under the slogan "A Breath for the Future, A Breath for Humanity," olive tree planting took place on National Afforestation Day, November 11. The planting event took place in the empty spaces around the new Rectorate Building, with the participation of Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akın, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, Secretary General Onur Ocakdan, department heads, academics, administrative staff, and students. After the saplings were planted, the team took a group photo with the Vice Rectors.
Rector Türkdoğan: "We Must Work Together for a Flourishing Turkey"
Rector of ALKÜ, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan, stated that with the afforestation campaign launched under the slogan "A Breath for the Future," more than 7 billion saplings have been planted in the last twenty years, and forest coverage has increased by 12%, reaching 23.4 million hectares. Rector Türkdoğan emphasized that ALKÜ is contributing to nature through participation in the "Breath for the Future" campaign. He said, "We, as ALKÜ, will continue to do more to leave a better country for future generations on the path to a flourishing Turkey." He also noted, "The trees we plant today will belong to everyone in the future. We know that future generations will also fight to leave a better Turkey for the generations to come. We must work together for a flourishing Turkey. I believe that we can make big changes by planting a small sapling. It is in our hands to leave a green world for future generations!" Rector Türkdoğan also highlighted that the olives harvested from the olive trees grown on the ALKÜ campus are used to produce oil, contributing to the country's economy.
