Good news for Alanya's tourism professionals: low-cost loans!

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced during the Tourism Investment Forum that low-interest loan support would be provided for the tourism sector. His statements were met with enthusiasm in Alanya’s tourism industry.

The Tourism Investment Forum, organized by the Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD) in strategic partnership with the Presidential Investment Office, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the World Travel and Tourism Council, brought together more than a thousand Turkish and international senior executives. Speaking at the forum, Minister Şimşek delivered good news to tourism professionals, stating, “We held a joint meeting with the Minister of Tourism to discuss how we can support tourism investments, particularly through rediscount loans, and addressed 5-6 key topics. As the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, we are working on the aspects that concern us. We will include the tourism sector in our program of long-term, low-interest Turkish lira loans designed for investments in high-tech products".

These statements sparked excitement in the Alanya tourism sector. Industry representatives highlighted the importance of financial resources to support innovative processes in tourism.

OUR REQUEST FOR RENEWAL LOANS CONTINUES

The President of the Alanya Touristic Operators Association (ALTİD), Burhan Sili, commented: “In today’s circumstances, it’s important to follow technological advancements and implement them in our facilities. This loan support could provide new momentum for the sector".

However, Sili emphasized that not only investments in high technology but also financial resources to support the innovative processes of the tourism sector are critical. He added, “Our request for low-interest, long-term ‘Renewal Loans’ for facilities in our region continues. This is essential for ensuring the sustainability of businesses and improving service quality.”

Sili also underlined the need for economic stability and prioritizing tourism as a strategic sector, stating, “Our hope is that Turkey’s strategic sector, tourism, will be further strengthened through such economic support.” He expressed optimism that government support for tourism would continue to grow.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE TOURISM SECTOR

A member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) noted that the low-interest loan support announced by Minister Şimşek for high-tech investments is not limited to technology alone but represents a significant step toward expanding the general loan opportunities for the tourism sector.

“This is not just a loan for investments in technology products; it is a broader initiative to enhance the credit capacity of the tourism sector, which is very positive news for the industry,” he said.

The board member emphasized that tourism businesses need credit support for renovation, repairs, and expansion projects. “The government’s provision of long-term Turkish lira loans to tourism operators is truly important and represents a great opportunity for the sector,” he added.
