The Ministry of Trade is collecting toys and clothing that pose risks to children

New products have been added to the Unsafe Product Information System published by the Ministry of Trade. In the list released, 1 toy and 3 children’s clothing items were found to pose a choking risk to children, and therefore, a decision was made to recall them from the market.

The Ministry of Trade, through authorized organizations conducting market surveillance and inspection activities, has included new products identified as unsafe in the "Unsafe Product Information System." This system publishes harmful products that threaten the health of children or the public, and those products are then recalled from the market.

NEW PRODUCTS LISTED

As of yesterday, four new products were added to the Unsafe Product Information System. These newly listed products were determined to pose a health risk to children, and therefore, they were recalled from the market. Here are the four products listed:

WATER GUN

One of the products listed is a toy water gun for children. On February 24, 2025, it was listed that the packaging of the water gun toy was found to be well below the required thickness, which presents a choking risk to children. The Ministry decided to ban its release to the market and recall it.

GIRL’S SUIT

Another product listed is a summer children’s suit for girls. On February 24, 2025, it was found that the decorations on the suit posed a risk of injury to children. As a result, the Ministry decided to ban the product’s release to the market and recall it.

BABY ONESIE

A thick-strap onesie designed for babies aged 0-3 years was also listed. On February 24, 2025, it was found that the small snap fasteners on the onesie could come off, creating a choking hazard for children. The Ministry decided to ban the product’s release to the market and recall it.

CHILDREN’S DRESS

The last product listed is a bolero-style, patterned dress for girls aged 8-9 years. On February 24, 2025, it was determined that the cords and drawstrings on the dress did not meet the specified safety criteria, posing a choking risk for children. The Ministry decided to ban the product’s release to the market and recall it.
