Lawyer Berkay Soysaldı, under the influence of drugs, crashed into a parked car and destroyed the wall of a house after losing control of his vehicle. Following the incident, drug tests revealed a high dose of narcotics in his system, and he was arrested and sent to prison.
The incident occurred a few days ago in the Kasaplar neighborhood of Antalya's Manavgat district. Mustafa Tezcan, a local resident, noticed that the driver of a BMV brand car with license plate 07 BKY 58 was motionless at the wheel. After failing to get a response from the driver, Tezcan called 112 Emergency Call Center for help. Upon arrival, 112 Health and Manavgat Police Department Traffic Inspection Office teams worked for about an hour to wake the driver up.
The citizen who rushed to help experienced misfortune. When the driver, Lawyer Berkay Soysaldı, saw the police, he suddenly accelerated. The car broke through the wire fence in front of a mosque, then hit a parked car and jumped over a 3-meter-high garden wall, entering the house's kitchen. The car, which was left hanging, was removed, and after a blood test at Manavgat State Hospital, it was determined that Soysaldı had consumed a high dose of drugs. It was revealed that the car Soysaldı was driving and the house he crashed into belonged to Mustafa Tezcan, who had called 112 for help and tried to assist. Tezcan had to explain the incident to visitors who came to wish him well.
"My Loss is Very Big"
Mustafa Tezcan, who said that he saw an unconscious person in a brand-new car when he left his house in the evening, and initially tried to wake them up, shared the following: "I tried to wake them up, and when I couldn't, I called 112 to report the situation. Health teams and traffic police arrived. They tried for a long time to wake him up. At one point, it seemed like he was waking up, but he passed out again. After several more efforts by the police, he regained consciousness. Despite the police asking him to roll down the window, he suddenly accelerated. The car broke through the mosque garden, hit my son’s parked car, and fell from the wall, entering the kitchen of my house. The person who I tried to wake up and help, the car he crashed into, and the house are all mine. My loss is huge. I will file a lawsuit and complaint unless my damage is compensated."
Lawyer Arrested
On the other hand, the driver of the car, Lawyer Berkay Soysaldı, who crashed into a parked car and fell from a height of 3 meters, entering the house's kitchen, was arrested by the court. Berkay Soysaldı, who was fined 47,842 TL by the Manavgat Police Department’s Traffic Inspection Bureau for driving under the influence of drugs, and had his driver’s license revoked for 5 years, was arrested for the crimes of "endangering traffic safety by driving under the influence, and damaging public and private property." He was handed over to the Manavgat S Type Closed Prison in Ilıca District.
