In Alanya, 1,738 registered women benefit from the Women’s Policies and Family Support Center operating under the Alanya Municipality Social Assistance Directorate at Ağaoğlu Mansion. Women receiving services from the center came together at a breakfast program attended by Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik.
The breakfast program, attended by many women clients, was prepared collaboratively according to Mayor Özçelik’s work policy. The breakfast, made with products prepared by the women clients and staff at their homes, received the mayor’s appreciation. Mayor Özçelik emphasized their goal to spread the culture of mutual aid everywhere in life and thanked all participants.
Women Council Members Halime Dim Ceylan and Ufuk Aras Solmaz also attended the program. A plaque of appreciation was presented by Mayor Özçelik to the philanthropist Sevim Yavuz and her family, who donated the use of the mansion to Alanya Municipality.
The center provides services in psychological counseling, legal counseling, family counseling, and dietitian support. Its main goals include empowering women’s participation in social life, helping them cope with problems, and facilitating connections with public institutions.
One of the most important missions of the Women’s Policies and Family Support Center is combating violence. Psychological support is provided to women who have experienced or are at risk of violence, and they are informed about their legal rights. The center also plays an active role in referring them to relevant institutions.
Individual and group work is carried out within the scope of family counseling services. Additionally, counseling on the importance of marriage, healthy communication, and rising divorce rates is provided to strengthen family structures.
The center’s dietitian offers counseling services aimed at promoting healthy eating habits. This service includes helping women understand their bodies, achieve balanced nutrition, and create diet plans suited to their specific health conditions.
