Person at the center of Alanya pesticide allegations arrested

Mustafa E., who marketed rented orchards as his own and caused financial losses to some farmers, was jailed after imported saplings were found to be diseased
JAILED FOR DEFAMATION AND INSULT
Mustafa E., former owner of Ezici Oil Company, is on trial in Istanbul following a complaint by his former partner Emrullah T. The Istanbul Anatolian 23rd Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced him to 2 years and 8 months in prison for defamation and insult. The court ruled that the sentence could not be suspended. After the verdict was upheld, Alanya Gendarmerie Command raided E’s residence, seized digital materials, and transferred him from custody to prison.
HE CRITICIZED EVERYONE BUT HIMSELF
Mustafa E. marketed tropical and exotic fruits imported from abroad as “local” and produce bought from the wholesale market as “organic” at inflated prices online. While claiming to sell pesticide-analyzed products, he was also accused of falsely labeling competitors’ products as “contaminated,” leading to further legal complaints.
