Collective Bargaining Talks Between Alanya Municipality and Tez-Koop-İş Union End in Dispute. The Union Declares a Strike and Initiates Legal Process.

Tez-Koop-İş Union announced that it has decided to go on strike as of February 21, 2025, after negotiations with Alanya Municipality Personnel Ltd. Şti. failed to produce results.

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING TALKS DEADLOCKED

Tez-Koop-İş Union, the authorized union at Alanya Municipality and its affiliated workplaces, announced that no agreement was reached in the collective bargaining talks that began on February 21, 2025. Due to the lack of consensus in negotiations, the union decided to strike.

TEZ-KOOP-İŞ: NO AGREEMENT DESPITE GOOD FAITH EFFORTS

In a statement from Tez-Koop-İş, the following was noted:

“Despite all our good-faith efforts and pursuit of reconciliation, the collective bargaining negotiations conducted at Alanya Municipality Personnel Ltd. Şti. have ended without a result. No agreement was reached at any stage, including the mediation process that started on February 21, 2025.”

LEGAL PROCESS INITIATED: STRIKE LOOMING

Referring to Law No. 6356 on Trade Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements, the union announced the strike decision as follows:

“Therefore, under Article 60 of Law No. 6356, a strike decision has been taken and the legal process has been initiated. The article states: ‘In the event of a dispute during the making of a collective labor agreement, the union may decide to strike, and this decision may be implemented within sixty days from the notification of the dispute report.’”

WILL MUNICIPAL WORKERS GO ON STRIKE?

As the municipal workers' strike at Alanya Municipality remains on the agenda, the public wonders whether employees will proceed with the walkout. Union officials stated that they will announce the strike implementation date in the coming days.
