Shameful scene in Alanya: A paradise turned into a dump by human hands

Obaçayı, one of Alanya’s natural treasures, has come under the spotlight due to pollution near the Kadıini Cave. 45 bags of trash were removed from the stream bed.

A popular spot for both locals and tourists during the summer months, the area around Obaçayı has turned into a dumping ground due to waste left behind by visitors looking to spend time in nature. Glass and plastic bottles, bags, cigarette packaging, barbecue waste, and various household trash piled up in the stream bed. During the cleanup, some volunteers entered the water up to their knees to collect garbage by hand.

ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE REPORTED

The collected waste was packed into blue bags and removed by municipal teams. It was noted that most of the trash was scattered after alcohol consumption. Citizens stated that such scenes could be avoided if everyone cleaned up after themselves, and they called for more warning signs and stricter supervision. It was emphasized that the waste blocks the natural flow of the stream and causes serious harm to the environment. Authorities announced that regular cleanups will continue in the area.
