Picnic areas in those regions of Alanya will be closed

New measures will be implemented to prevent forest fires, which we have been hearing about frequently in recent times. Safety measures are being increased in fire-prone areas across Turkey, including Alanya.

New nationwide decisions are being put into effect, including for Alanya. At the Presidential Cabinet meeting, the risks related to major fires that have recently occurred in various parts of Turkey were discussed.

Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz announced new measures for high-risk areas, including the temporary suspension of railway services, enhanced safety measures for power lines, and the closure of picnic areas in those regions. These decisions aim to prevent the risk of fires.

ALMOST ALL FIRES ARE HUMAN-CAUSED

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı emphasized that 90% of fire disasters in Turkey are caused by humans, stating: “There must be public awareness. Unfortunately, when there are no fires for a few days, we tend to forget. In 90% of the fires, there is a direct or indirect human factor.”
