Tradesmen in Alanya Are Struggling: The Tax Authority Has Set Its Sights

In recent tax inspections, fines have been imposed on tradesmen, while Hüseyin Alataş, President of the Alanya Furniture Dealers Association, said, “Tradesmen are suffering; such strict inspections are challenging.”

Tax officers have been conducting intensive inspections in Alanya recently, issuing fines ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 Turkish Lira to many tradesmen. Hüseyin Alataş stated that this practice has been ongoing in certain sectors for a long time. He said, “Fines are imposed section by section according to specific professions. It is more intense in the food sector, but it also happens in our sector. Periodically, fines are given in sectors like furniture and food.”

“Our tradesmen are really suffering right now. While there are some deficiencies, such intense inspections are very challenging,” he added.
