A passenger plane that took off from İzmir bound for Antalya made an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction and a burning smell detected after takeoff. The cabin crew went into alert mode, and the moments were captured by passengers on their mobile phone cameras.
The SunExpress passenger aircraft, operating flight number X07293 and registered as TC-SPO, departed from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Antalya but decided to return shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. It was learned that a hydraulic system failure occurred on the Boeing 737-800, prompting the cockpit crew to return to İzmir in accordance with procedures. During the flight, the smell of burning inside the aircraft caused panic among passengers, while the cabin crew stood by with fire extinguishers at the ready.

The aircraft landed safely back at Adnan Menderes Airport, where ARFF teams were on standby on the apron. After evacuation, passengers were transferred to the terminal by shuttle buses. A technical inspection was initiated for the flight, and the airline announced that a replacement aircraft would be provided to avoid passenger inconvenience.
