A water crisis in Alanya’s Güzelbağ neighborhood has pushed residents to the brink of revolt. Locals say they have been trying to survive for days by bringing in water from elsewhere. In Güzelbağ, a neighborhood often associated with water shortages, there has been no running water for a week. Residents claim that ASAT, which has received complaints from many parts of Alanya since the start of summer, has failed to resolve the problem for days. “We haven’t had water for a week. A person can die from dehydration in just three days. In this heat, we can’t take a shower, even going to the toilet is torture. We are carrying water day and night. Has ASAT abandoned us to die?” they protested.
