Published in the Official Gazette: Becomes Mandatory in Alanya

Mandatory Tracking Devices, Cameras, and Emergency Buttons for Vehicles Across Turkey, Including Alanya
With the new Highway Traffic Regulation published in the Official Gazette, all vehicles in Alanya and across Turkey are now required to have a tracking system, camera, recording device, and emergency button installed. This obligation applies immediately to newly registered vehicles after the regulation comes into effect. Existing vehicle owners will need to comply according to their vehicle model years at their next inspection.
Vehicles from 2023-2025 models: from January 1, 2026
Vehicles from 2018-2022 models: from January 1, 2027
Vehicles 2017 and older: from January 1, 2028
The regulation, aimed at improving safety in commercial and public transportation vehicles, provides a special transition period for school buses. Buses registered or to be registered between February 18, 2025, and October 1, 2025, are considered sufficient with their existing camera and recording systems, and the new requirements will apply only from their first inspection after December 31, 2027.
The new rule aims to increase passenger safety, enable rapid response in traffic accidents, and prevent unregistered activity. Non-compliance will result in penalties for vehicle owners.
