New rule affects everyone with high salary: ceiling for pension base to be raised
27 October / Sozcu.com.tr

A newly proposed bill to the Turkish Parliament will raise the ceiling for “prime-based earnings” which concerns employees with high salaries. Currently the ceiling is set at 7.5 × the minimum wage, and the proposal aims to move it to 9 ×.
For example, under the current minimum wage, the ceiling is about 195,000 TL, and under the new regulation it would increase to approximately 234,000 TL.
Analysts say this change will enable those earning higher incomes to receive larger pensions upon retirement.
