Turkish Airlines Named "Most Sustainable Flag Carrier Airline" for the Third Time

According to a statement from THY Press Office, the "flag carrier" is proud to have won this prestigious award three years in a row.
In an environment where the climate crisis negatively affects the aviation sector, THY stands out in the industry through its voluntary carbon offset platform "CO2mission," use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), sustainable products onboard, and implemented waste management, offering passengers a sustainable travel experience.
"We will continue to prioritize sustainable practices in all our operations."
THY Board of Directors and Executive Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat expressed their satisfaction with receiving the "Most Sustainable Flag Carrier Airline" award for three consecutive years.
Bolat stated that this award is evidence of their commitment to sustainability and environmental management:
"As Turkish Airlines, being one of the world's top 3 airlines in digitalization is one of our strategic goals. In line with our commitment to becoming a Carbon Neutral Airline by 2050, we included the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in our climate change mitigation plans in 2022. In 2023, we further expanded our SAF usage with new routes. We will continue to add new routes using SAF and prioritize sustainable practices in all our operations."
THY has undertaken over 100 projects since 2008 to reduce its carbon footprint and achieved significant successes in fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions reduction in 2023.
